Quick Review: St Moritz in Buxton, Peak District

I always love a good Italian and St Moritz was well reviewed and highly recommended in Buxton.

But I didn’t expect the restaurant to have such a classy traditional vibe to it as well. The coloured glass ceiling, wooden panelling, red walls, traditional tiling and high windows really added to the atmosphere. It was quite romantic sitting by the large front window.

I ordered a juice drink (£3.35) and we had a Risotto Nero for a starter (£7.80). This is Arborio rice cooked in a black ink sauce with tiger prawns, calamari, fish, white wine and salsa verde.

My bf had the Penne Salmone (£12.15) with shallots, peas, spinach and salmon in a tomato and cream sauce.

I had a Tagliatelle Rosso (£10.95) with red peppers, olives, sundried tomatoes, spinach, garlic butter, white wine and chia.

For dessert we had a tiramisu (£6.70)

The food came quickly and was fresh, well presented and very reasonably priced. Good food done well; it was that simple at St Moritz.

Note that booking is highly recommended due to the popularity of the restaurant.
